The first thing you really notice about smoking, when you first take it up, is that cigarettes taste awful. And because they taste so awful, we are convinced that we couldn't get hooked.
The really crazy thing is that we work really hard to get hooked and to inhale without coughing and feeling sick. Then we spend the rest of our lives trying to rationalise why we do it, and at other times, trying to quit.
When we think about smoking consciously we wish we hadn't started. When you're allowed to do it you wish you didn't, it's only when you are not allowed to do it that it seems so precious!

Try riding a bike consciously and it just gets "hard" and you often become anxious!
There are some habits that are good for you, and there are some habits that are bad for you. It's good to know which are which.

- How heavily you smoke
- How long you have smoked
- How often you have unsuccessfully tried to stop.
- That you have a strong desire to break the habit!
- Tthat you are doing it for you!
- That you are prepared to do what it takes to succeed!
